Crop images online to the perfect shape
This free image cropper lets you drag and resize a crop box, lock it to an aspect ratio, straighten a tilted horizon, rotate or mirror the photo and export it in high quality. It is built for the sizes people actually need — social media posts, profile pictures, product photos and banners.
How to crop a photo
- Drop your image.
- Pick an aspect ratio preset or choose Free.
- Drag the box and the corner handles; use the straighten slider if needed.
- Choose a circle or rounded-corner mask for avatars, then download.
Aspect ratios explained
| Ratio | Used for |
|---|---|
| 1:1 | Instagram square, profile pictures, Amazon & Shopify product images |
| 4:5 | Instagram portrait posts (shows larger in the feed) |
| 16:9 | YouTube thumbnails, presentations, website banners |
| 9:16 | Stories, Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts |
| 3:2 / 2:3 | Standard photo prints (4 × 6 in) |
Circle profile pictures
Choose the circle mask to make a round avatar with a transparent background — download as PNG to keep the transparent corners. Rounded corners are useful for app icons and website cards.
Crop, then resize or compress
Cropping removes the parts you don’t need. To reach an exact pixel size use the image resizer, and to make the file smaller for the web use the image compressor.

Exact sizes
Type an exact width and height in pixels and press Set — for example 1080 × 1350 for an Instagram portrait. Use ⇄ to swap width and height for portrait or landscape.
Rotate, flip and centre
- ↺ ↻ rotate by 90° to fix sideways phone photos.
- ↔ ↕ flip to mirror a selfie or a product shot.
- Center Box puts the crop exactly in the middle.
Tips
- Leave a little space around faces and products — tight crops look cramped on phones.
- Crop first, then resize or compress.
- For marketplace photos on a clean background, use the product background maker.
