Make videos smaller in seconds
Phone videos are huge — a one-minute 4K clip can be 300 MB or more. This video compressor makes them small enough to send on WhatsApp, attach to an email or post on Discord, using your device’s hardware video encoder for speed. Choose a preset, or type the exact size you need, and compare the result with the original before you download.
How to compress a video
- Drop one or more videos (MP4, MOV, WebM…).
- Choose a preset — WhatsApp, Email, Discord — or a target size in MB.
- Optional: trim the start and end, lower the resolution or remove the sound.
- Compare before and after, then download.
Size limits to know
| Where | Limit |
|---|---|
| Email (Gmail, Outlook) | About 20–25 MB attachments |
| Discord (free) | About 10 MB per file |
| Videos are recompressed by WhatsApp; a smaller file keeps more quality |
Limits change — check the app if a file is rejected.
How compression works
The tool re-encodes the video with an efficient codec (H.264 MP4 or WebM) at a lower bitrate and, if needed, a smaller resolution. A 1080p video looks good on phones at 3–5 Mbps; 720p at 1.5–3 Mbps.
Need a different format, a GIF or the audio as MP3? Use the MP4 converter.
Pick where the video is going
- ⭐ Recommended: great quality at a much smaller size.
- 💬 WhatsApp: under 16 MB so it sends as a normal video.
- 📧 Email: under 25 MB for Gmail attachments.
- 🎮 Discord: under 10 MB for free accounts.
- 📱 Instagram / TikTok: 1080p with settings the apps like.
- 🪶 Smallest: 480p, tiny file.

Trim first, compress less
Cut the start and end with the trim controls (⏱ Now sets the point at the current frame). A shorter video needs less compression and looks better at the same size.
Already small?
If a video is already well compressed, the tool keeps the original instead of making it bigger or worse — you’ll see “Already well compressed”.
Works best in
Compression runs in your browser using your device’s video engine — fastest in up-to-date Chrome or Edge on a computer, and on Android. Long 4K videos take a while and need free memory; close other tabs for big files. Your video is never uploaded.
