Get more WhatsApp messages with a QR code
A WhatsApp QR code opens a chat with your number the moment someone scans it — they don’t need to save your number first. You can also pre-fill a message such as “Hi, I want to order…” so customers start the conversation in one tap.
How to create a WhatsApp QR code
- Choose your country code and type your WhatsApp number (without the leading 0).
- Write an optional greeting message.
- Style the code and add a “Chat with us on WhatsApp” frame.
- Download and print it on menus, packaging, flyers, shop windows or business cards.
Number format
WhatsApp links use the full international number without +, spaces or leading zeros. Example for Pakistan: 0300 1234567 becomes 923001234567. The generator does this for you when you pick the country.
Message ideas
- Shops: “Hi! I’d like to place an order.”
- Restaurants: “Hi, I want to book a table for …”
- Services: “Hello, I’d like a quote for …”
- Support: “Hi, I need help with my order number …”
WhatsApp Business
The QR code works with both WhatsApp and WhatsApp Business numbers. Combine it with quick replies and a catalogue in WhatsApp Business to answer customers faster. You can also put the same chat QR on your shipping labels with our shipping label generator.
One scan to start a WhatsApp chat
- Enter your WhatsApp number with the country code, for example +92 300 1234567. Spaces and the + are handled for you.
- Write a ready message such as “Hi! I want to order…” so customers don’t have to type.
- Download and print.
The code opens a wa.me link — the official WhatsApp click-to-chat link — so it works on any phone with WhatsApp.
Where shops use it
- Packaging and delivery boxes: “Scan to reorder”
- Shop counters and flyers: “Scan for our catalogue”
- Business cards and banners: “Chat with us on WhatsApp”
- Restaurant tables: “Scan to order for delivery”
Tips
- Use a WhatsApp Business number so you can set greeting and away messages.
- Different pre-filled messages for different flyers tell you which flyer brought the customer.
- Add a frame with text like “Order on WhatsApp” — people scan more when they know why.
- Test the code from another phone before printing.
