❓ Questions
Do these QR codes expire?
Never. The information is stored inside the code itself (a “static” QR code), so it works forever without our website — unlike “dynamic” codes from other sites that stop working when a trial ends.
Will it still scan with a logo and colors?
Yes — we raise the error correction automatically when you add a logo and we test-scan every design while you edit. If the badge turns yellow or red, make the colors darker or the logo smaller.
How big should I print it?
A simple rule: the code should be at least 1/10 of the scanning distance. 3 cm works on a business card, 15 cm on a poster seen from 1.5 m. Use SVG or PDF for printing — they stay sharp at any size.
Can I change the link later?
Static codes cannot be edited after printing. Tip: point the code to a page you control (like your website or Linktree) so you can update what it shows.

Create a QR code that never expires

Many “free” QR code websites create dynamic codes that send people through their own servers — and stop working when the free trial ends. This QR code generator makes static QR codes: the information is stored inside the code itself, so it works forever, with no account, no tracking and no watermark.

How to make a QR code

  1. Pick the type: website, Wi-Fi, WhatsApp, contact card (vCard), event, email, SMS, phone, location or text.
  2. Fill in the details.
  3. Choose a template or style it: colours, gradient, dot and corner shapes, logo, frame with “Scan me”.
  4. Check the live scan test and contrast warning.
  5. Download PNG, SVG or PDF at the right print size.

QR code types

TypeWhat happens when scanned
Website (URL)Opens the link
Wi-FiJoins your network without typing the password
WhatsAppOpens a chat with your number and a ready message
vCardSaves your contact to the phone
EventAdds the event to the calendar
Email / SMSOpens a new message with text filled in

Tips for QR codes that always scan

  • Contrast: dark code on a light background. Light-on-dark and pale colours scan badly.
  • Size: at least 2 × 2 cm (0.8 in) on paper; bigger for posters — roughly 1/10 of the scanning distance.
  • Quiet zone: keep a white border around the code.
  • Logo: keep it small (under about 20% of the code) and use high error correction.
  • Test with two different phones before printing.

Print-ready files

Download SVG or PDF for printing — vector files stay sharp at any size, from business cards to banners. For bulk codes (one per product or table), use the bulk option and download a ZIP. Pair your QR code with our business card maker or shipping label generator.

Design without breaking the scan

  • Templates for flyers, business cards, posters, menus, packaging, store windows, banners and screens set a sensible size and frame.
  • Colours: keep the code darker than the background. Low contrast is the most common reason a QR fails.
  • Logo: keep it small; adding a logo switches the code to the highest error correction so it still scans.
  • Frame & text: add a call to action such as “Scan for menu” — people scan more when they know why.

Download the right file

  • PNG for screens, WhatsApp and documents.
  • SVG for printing at any size — it stays sharp.
  • PDF at an exact printed size (for example 3 cm wide) for print shops.
  • Bulk mode makes many codes at once from a list.

Size and testing

Print at least 2 × 2 cm for close scanning; for posters, about one tenth of the scanning distance. Always test the printed size on an Android phone and an iPhone before printing in quantity. Codes made here are static: they never expire and keep working as long as the link itself works.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do these QR codes expire?

No. They are static codes — the content is inside the code, so they work forever.

Can I add my logo?

Yes. Upload a logo; error correction is raised automatically so the code still scans.

Can I track scans?

Static codes cannot be tracked by us. For website codes, add UTM tags (in the URL QR generator) to see scans in Google Analytics.

What size should I print a QR code?

At least 2 × 2 cm, and about one-tenth of the distance people scan from.

Is it free for commercial use?

Yes, with no watermark.

Will my QR code stop working?

No. These are static QR codes — the data is inside the code, so it never expires. Only the website it points to has to stay online.

Can I add my logo?

Yes. Upload a logo; error correction is raised automatically so the code still scans. Test it before printing.
